A user-research (UX) interview in progress at Turian Labs

User research or UX research was Design Research before it became popular in its current avatar. Turian Labs team has been delivering Design Research projects and strategic insights over two decades now. We have formed our own bouquet of tools, methods and best practices around UX research. We work across several countries like USA, Brazil, China, Indonesia, Philippines & Turkey apart from India through our network of partners. From simple heuristic benchmarking studies on usability to full fledged foundational studies and plain quick-intercepts to eye-tracking studies, our team is adept in delivering global research mandates. All this capability build-up over the years, helps clients get a quicker turnaround on projects even when faced with difficult recruitment criteria or expansive research mandates that involve covering multiple locations in a short time.

Turian Labs does it better

  1. Research Planning: Research planning is the stage where 50% of the value is built. Experience of decades makes us an expert in optimising efforts for maximum outcome.

  2. Early hypothesis through accelerated secondary markers: Through our rapid-assimilation methods we insist on getting an early sense of the market/business context from the available information with the client/online. That helps building a tighter recruitment and logistics plan for faster turnaround.

  3. Remote Research: We have evolved our methodologies and field network to manage remote research mandates (moderated as well as unmoderated studies) using various technology platforms. Client teams can watch the proceedings from their desks and even interact with the respondents.

  4. Collaborative: We work in close collaboration with the client teams through the research stages and whole heartedly involve them in the field observations (with due protocols to ensure minimal disruption in the ethnography rigour). This ensures early understanding of the insights and quicker buy-in from the team.

  5. Sharper respondent recruitment across locations: Our network and connects now have the capability to recruit globally at a short notice. We have managed not only the usual consumer segments but even high-end influencers and experts.

  6. Research Orchestra Management : Managing UX research in the lab or at respondent locations is nothing less than managing a complex orchestra to get the perfect outcome. We manage the whole length efficiently - Interpreters, media handlers, moderators, client team, recruitment co-ordinator, transport, remote moderation team, transcriptions, highlight videos/audios, detailed reports.

  7. Quick updates to stakeholders: Our team knows the value of instant updates so that stakeholders can think dynamically on the evolving situation. Our multiple-diamond method makes it possible to change research protocols multiple times across the research journey to converge rapidly, rather than being left with questions even after the research.

  8. Actionable insights weighted through the business design lens: Research is not for its own sake. It has to finally plugin to the broader business opportunity mapping that the stakeholders are involved in. Our team is adept at putting the macro context and micro insights in the respective places to build the business case.

  9. International quality of reports: Final reports are made with multiple stakeholders in mind - some of them may not have time to go through them at length, so the reports are designed for easy navigation, multiple levels of extracts and the insights are well-evidenced for putting up a convincing argument.

  10. Preferred Research Partner with Google: Turian Labs has been working with Google across hundreds of projects, multi-year and multi-country (including USA) engagement since 2015. Our work with Google spans 360 deg mandates from usability studies to concept viability foundational research.
